Thiabendazole belongs to the class of benzimidazole fungicides. It inhibits the formation of tubulin during mitosis of fungi, and it is a systemic broad-spectrum fungicide widely used for preservation of food and agricultural products.
Pure grade of Thiabendazole is white or off-while crystalline powder, tasteless and odorless. Melting point: 304~305℃. 1g Thiabendazole is soluble in 107.5mL methanol. Acid and alkali resistant.
Thiabendazole synthesis process: Mixing 4-ethoxycarbonylthiazole, o-phenylenediamine, polyphosphoric acid, obtained by neutralization, crystallization, extraction, and recrystallization.
